Brian Harrower

Brian Harrower – Corporate Communication Director  Brian Harrower

One of the key strengths Brian brings to the Black Grace leadership is that he’s worked extensively on both sides of the fence at high level. As an executive journalist he’s run news rooms as a Chief of Staff in big cities, been Editor and Managing Editor of two newspapers in Melbourne and Newcastle and he inextricably understands business marketing.

More recently he sold his own 19 year-old public relations company that was ranked in the top 10 of Queensland PR firms to provide Black Grace with stronger command of critically important corporate communication knowledge from inside and outside of media.

Brian has helped many prominent business organisations and companies including government-owned entities such as Queensland Events Corporation and former Federal Airports Corporation, high profile Queensland luxury boat exporters Maritimo and The Riviera Group, SE-Asia’s largest conference organiser, The Asia Business Forum (Singapore), the Taxi Council of Queensland, Queensland Chamber of Commerce & Industry (now CCIQ), Sustainable Development Gold Coast Inc as well as many smaller companies and professional firms. He is also an experienced business and property writer.

He recently designed and organised for South-east Asia’s largest business event organiser, the Asia Business Forum on behalf of its client the Asia Pacific Centre for Continuing Professional Development, a two-day workshop called ‘Profit from PR - Harness the power of the media’ at the 5-star Grand Copthorne waterfront hotel in Singapore.

The event attracted major company presence from not only Singapore but Hong Kong and Thailand. This included marketing executives from ABN Amro Bank, BMW regional, Philip Morris, Singapore Tourism Board, HSBC Insurance (Asia Pacific) Holdings and major energy supplier Sembcorp Utilities.

Brian’s experience in event management, including an international launch event at Conrad Jupiters for Queensland Events Corporation, adds considerably to managing director Anna Delaney’s event organising skills. They first teamed up to stage the successful development industry’s Turning Point 2010 ‘Moving Forward Faster’ full-day conference in Surfers Paradise in 2009 for Sustainable Development Gold Coast Inc.
